Team of the Week: Midget Girls. According to coach Dawn Drummond: "They played an amazing game as a team in their spring league final. The girls have worked hard all season and come together as a great group of young ladies that it was my pleasure to coach. I want to thank all the players and parents for their time and energy during spring season. While we were not an experienced team everyone worked hard and did what was asked of them and never quit on each other or the game."

Female Player of the Week: Sarah Abbott, Bantam Girls. She has incredible court awareness and speed, combined with great defensive abilities, makes her a great all around player.

Male Player of the Week: Cole Albersworth, Bantan Boys 1, winner of the Knights of Columbus Southern Alberta Free Throw Shootout in Calgary!

Last Female Player of the Week: Kayla Malone, Bantam Girls 1. Down by one, with five seconds to play, Kayla Malone of Airdrie drained two pressure filled foul shots to lead the Airdrie Bantam Girls #1 team to a 40-39 win over the North Edmonton Basketball Association (NEBA) Staples team giving Airdrie a gold medal at the Youth Provincial Basketball Bantam B Tournament in Edmonton on March 20th. Way to go Kayla!

Last Week's Boys Player of the Week: Connor Wilde from BB3. Connor Wilde was selected as MVP for our Championship win over South Fish Creek this past Saturday. Connor lead the team in Points and Rebounds and even came back from injury during the game to put us over the top in a very close game. We have seen tremendous improvement in Connor and he definitely showed up to play. Final score 23 � 17. Good as Gold.
