Airdrie Junior Boys Basketball Win the Gold Medal
The fall season is a short season for Community basketball as many players use it for a warm up season before their high school basketball year begins. The boys this year went 6 wins and 2 losses before moving into the playoffs. They won their first game over Bow River by the score of 59 – 56 and then they prepared for their final game (Nov 28) against Properties. They came out and took command from the start of the game all the way to the end winning by their biggest margin of the year for the gold medal. The final score 59-27. The team is comprised of overages: Shane Cluff, Taylor Kolonic; Bert Church Chargers: DJ Coward, Joe Jennings; George MacDougall Mustangs: Cordell McCormick, Mark MacEachen; St Martin de Porres: Rock Habib; Remainder of the gold Medal team: Nathan Storey, Mark Philipsen, Cory Hoskin, Ryan Esayenko and Jake Pheasey-Bojczuk.
